Tulsa 9.12 Project - Breakfast Club - Friday, Mar 27, 7:30 am
Tulsa 9.12 Breakfast Club Friday, Mar. 27th, 7:30 am
We are excited to have for the first time Rep Pam Peterson to speak to our Breakfast Club meeting on Friday, March 27, to discuss her bill HB1518, on corrections reform. Most of us will agree that Oklahoma needs to begin addressing corrections reform and HB1518 seems a great place to start.
OCPA agrees and has stated in an editorial published by The Oklahoman:
"Policymakers should also pursue corrections reform. Incarceration of non-violent offenders and over-criminalization at both the state and federal levels are driving up the cost of other government services and robbing homes of mothers and fathers. Oklahoma should move to a system that avoids the incarceration of non-violent offenders, working instead to help those struggling with substance abuse, mental health challenges and financial woes to pursue empowerment and improvement through restorative justice and other reforms."

Pancake Breakfast OK GOP State Chair Candidate Forum Saturday, March 28 at 8:30 AM.
On April 11, Oklahoma Republicans have a BIG decision to make as to who will lead the Republican Party into the 2016 elections. Three candidates have announced they are running for the State GOP Chair position - Randy Brogdon, Pam Pollard and Dave Weston. Brogdon and Pollard have confirmed for the breakfast - Weston has declined to attend or send a representative in his place.
Many involved in the GOP are familiar with our current OK GOP State Chair, Dave Weston. So, if you or someone you know is unclear as to who to cast your vote for at the OK GOP State Convention, this is a great opportunity to ask the candidates questions about leadership styles, methods of operation and vision for the Oklahoma Republican Party moving into 2016.
This event is open to the public - we encourage ALL to attend! Republicans residing outside of Tulsa county should take this opportunity to speak with the candidates before the state convention, April 11.

Tulsa contingent who attended the Oklahoma Corporation Commission meeting on PSO proposed rate increase for Smart Meters (aka AMI).
Oklahoma City, Thursday, Dec. 18th, 2014.
The Commission delayed a decision on the PSO proposal to some future date.
OK Corp Commission - PSO Rate Increase Case - Thurs, Dec 18
The case for the base rate increase PSO is requesting for the deployment of Smart (AMI) meters in its network is ready to be voted on by the OCC (Oklahoma Corporation Commission). They will make their decision based on the recommendation of the ALJ (Administrative Law Judge), who recommends permitting PSO to raise our base rates to cover the purchase and deployment of Smart meters. In her recommendation she failed to include public comment regarding health, privacy and safety issues associated with Smart (AMI) meters as well as documents filed with the OCC by Oklahoma citizens regarding this case.
If the OCC votes on the base rate increase, based solely on the recommendation of one judge with no consideration of public opinion, the monopolies that are our utility providers will gain permission to raise our rates to pay for their investment (the purchase of the Smart Meters), forcing customers to have a meter placed on their home or business with no option to refuse. We must stand up and oppose the ALJ's recommendations. Let's not forget, due to EPA regulations regarding Regional Haze, our utility bills will rise by a minimum of 11%, with most anticipating upwards of 20% in 2015.

A little something about Smart (AMI) Meters and Why We Oppose Them:
Utilities in jurisdictions within Oklahoma are implementing the installation of "Advanced Metering Infrastructures" (i.e. smart meters). The meters are telecom devices that track and record details of customers' energy usages and automatically transmit the information wirelessly, via radio-frequency (RF) microwaves (MW) to the Utilities. The wireless system is designed to support two-way communication between a customer's meter and the Utility.
Individual "smart meters" can be upgraded remotely by the Utility, providing the ability to implement future innovations and proposed energy conservation add-ons such as Utility controlled thermostats. Utilities exercise the installation of "smart meters" without the customer's request or expressed consent.
Additionally, the Utilities fail to provide full disclosure for the following: privacy violation, due process of the law, cyber attack vulnerability of un-encrypted data devices, health side effects from repeated exposure to pulse microwave radiation, increased utility bills, inaccurate billing, danger associated with meter malfunction and overheating, and the customer's right to refuse the meter's installation.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." ~Samuel Adams
Speech at the Philadelphia State House on August 1, 1776.
Our mission, based on the belief in God and adherence to the United States Constitution, is to help reduce the federal government's involvement, influence, and power over our daily lives.
We will do this thru Educated Activism. Education; so that we can talk with facts, conviction, and
assertiveness to prospective members, the news media, our
elected Representatives, and groups that may oppose our
objectives. Activism; to make contacts after contacts after contacts with our
elected Representatives, INSISTING that their votes on key
legislation MUST adhere to the Constitution and be for the benefit of
the people they work for, and not for themselves or for special
interest groups. Click here to find out more about the Tulsa 9.12 Project.

Joseph Stalin once said the following... "America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: Its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, it will collapse from within."
